One unit of work - all theory
No need to have access to learners or assessors 
Can all be done online and no need to be a practising IQA 
You can use this to progress to the next stage which is the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF). 
 
Supports knowledge and gives a good understanding of the IQA process  
Successful completion leads to QA status meaning you can apply to work as an IQA, IV or lead IEPA 
This does not give full IQA status but supports those working towards this position to give fundamental knowledge and understanding.
